Overview

King's Lynn Service 

This service provides assessment, treatment and support for patients with secondary lymphoedema.

This includes:

  • Prevention or reduction of swelling following damage to the lymphatic system
  • Treatment of lymphoedema which may be Primary or Secondary in origin
  • Provision of therapy to maintain reduction in limb volume including skin care, external compression, general advice
  • Simple Lymphatic Drainage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage
  • Lymphoedema of other causes 
  • Management of Lipoedema

 

Norwich Service 

1. We accept adults over 18 with either primary and secondary lymphoedema to any site .
2. Accept referrals for lipoedema ladies.
3. Accept referrals via the Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse
4. Accept referrals for any patients with swelling above knee/in the thigh
5. We will accept patients up to 320kg in weight

and we offer:

Advice on lymphoedema management
Fitting for compression hosiery
Multi-layer bandaging
Teaching of Self Lymphatic Drainage
Application techniques for kinesiotape

Access and Facilities: Wheelchair accessible.

Referral Information: The service is provided for all adults and young adults (over 18 years old) who live within NHS Norfolk. The service will receive referrals from other community services, primary and secondary care, plus self referrals and, where appropriate, refer patients to other services following established clinical criteria.
