NCH&C’s Charitable Fund ‘Project Elf’ mission

Twenty-twenty has been a strange and difficult year for many of us, and we could all do with a bit of a seasonal boost. However, just take a moment to think of those spending Christmas in hospital.

Many of our patients will spend the festive period on our wards across Norfolk, recovering and rehabilitating following treatment. While our staff are going the extra mile to help patients stay in touch with their families, the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic means visiting is restricted this year.

To help spread a little Christmas cheer this year, NCH&C’s Charitable Fund has set up ‘Project Elf’.

Throughout the month of December, there have been fundraising initiatives including ‘festive fun Friday’ where staff were asked to wear their most Christmassy jumpers, socks, or even headgear, to help raise money.

For anyone who would like to donate to help fund festive goodies for patients and staff across the trust please visit the Project Elf Just Giving page.

Thanks so much to everyone who has already given generous donations. Money raised this year has enabled:

  • New TV’s for patients at Caroline House
  • Gift vouchers to purchase gifts to buy presents for patients
  • Patient Christmas kits to send to loved ones at Priscilla Bacon Lodge
  • Digital devices for patients to communicate with loved ones
  • Mindfulness and Physical wellbeing boxes for patients
  • Dementia crockery and cutlery for patients
  • Outdoor sensory equipment
