NHS England and NHS Improvement, and Health Education England have now published the next part of the NHS People Plan: We are the NHS: People Plan for 2020/21 action for us all.
This, along with Our People Promise, sets out what our colleagues can expect from their leaders and from each other. It builds on the creativity and drive shown by our NHS people in their response, to date, to the COVID-19 pandemic. It focuses on how we must all continue to look after each other and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, as well as take action to grow our workforce, train our people, and work together differently to deliver patient care.
NCH&C has welcomed the publication of the NHS People Plan.
Josie Spencer, CEO, said:
“The People Plan offers a welcome opportunity for us to review our accountability and reporting structures for equality, diversity and inclusion. We will achieve this by working as part of the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership, which is a partnership of local health and care organisations working together to improve the health, wellbeing and care of people living in Norfolk and Waveney
By working together, we will be stronger to successfully make the change in culture so that the whole workforce can thrive. The impact of COVID-19 demonstrates the system’s ability to act quickly where needed. Each of us, collectively and individually, plays a significant role in caring for our local community.”
