CCS and NCH&C chosen to become an Advanced Foundation Trust

Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust have been selected as part of the first wave of organisations to become a new Advanced Foundation Trust.

This will take place after April 2026, following the merger that will create our new organisation. The announcement was made on 12 November 2025 by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, at the NHS Providers Conference.

To achieve Advanced Foundation Trust status, organisations must demonstrate very high standards in performance, quality of care and financial management. They also need to be well led, well governed and trusted by their local communities.

Matthew Winn, CEO said: "There is a lot to do as we go through the formal authorisation phase but this recognition really reflects the consistently high standards you deliver across our services. Only eight organisations in the whole country have been chosen and only organisations that perform well and are held in high regard made the cut. Thank you for your role in achieving this milestone. We will share further details in future briefings as the process develops.

"Thank you for everything you do every day to make our Trust a better place for patients, colleagues, and our communities. As we move further into the winter period, your dedication is truly appreciated."
