Help with health costs

If you're referred to hospital or other NHS premises for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by a doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional, you may be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS). Our service

Mill Lodge is a state-of-the-art Adult Learning Disability Respite Unit in Taverham that supports individuals with a learning disability and complex physical and health needs who are living at home with their families.

The premises promote privacy and dignity, including intelligent locking systems, ceiling tracking from bedroom to bathroom, specialist equipment and a hydro bath which incorporates lights and music.

To help navigation around the unit, a way finding system has been introduced, which incorporates touch, colour strategies, pictures and visual prompts. For patients that require more specialised support, a self-contained ‘suite’ has been designed to meet the specific needs of patients and the outside areas have also been utilised to best effect with two separate garden areas, including grassed areas, a ‘bouncy patio’, and sensory planting.
